![]() Those settings will give you all the controls you need on a standard SNES Mini controller to play Mario Kart 64 to it's full. Apparently RetroArch doesn't actually save those remap or config files until you exit RetroArch via the "Quit RetroArch" Option which is a bit strange and annoying. If you don't do this then you will find most times that when you go to play the game again your remap file won't have been saved and you'll have to do all of the above again. ![]() Now leave the "Controls" menu and go back to "Main Menu" and select "Quit RetroArch". Select this file and it will take you back to the menus. Next select "Load Remap File" and go into the folder which should be there named "GlupenN64 GLES2" and in there you should find a file named after the game (in this case Mario Kart 64) ending with ".rmp". When you've remapped the controller to your liking then don't forget to use the "Save Game ReMap File" option while there, then select "Load Remap File" and pick the newly created remap file which you will now find.Ī quirk of RetroArch is that often you need to go back to the "Main Menu" & select "Quit RetroArch" for it to actually save any changes/ new configs/ remaps you have just made (despite the fact is said "save" in the other menus/ options) otherwise when you go to play the game again you will find it didn't actually save your new remaps/ configs and you have to enter them all over again.įollow those guidelines and you should have no issues with remapping your SNES controllers to play N64 games. To set up/ remap your controllers for use with N64 games then only do so via the following route in RetroArch, go to "Main Menu/ Quick Menu/ Controls"and remap your controller in there. NEVER change/ remap your controllers in RetroArch from the "Settings/ Input" menu in RetroArch, as that is where most folk go wrong and end up locking their controllers out from RetroArch altogether. To set up your standard SNES mini controllers to play N64 games be they the wired ones that came with your system or wireless ones that you have bought then make sure you do the following to avoid messing up things and preventing RetroArch from recognising your controllers. Once you've uninstalled fully RetroArch and the GlupeN64 core/ hmods via the "Uninstall Modules" option in HakChi and then reinstalled them with clean/ new versions that will reset RetroArch's config files and get your controllers working again.
